Boomers Redefine Travel Options

03-cover-family-articleInline-1People between the ages of 49 and 67 control the largest amount of the nation’s disposable wealth; as well they have fashioned the country’s travel selections. No wonder the travel industry is sprinting to attract the Boomers. From multigenerational trips, to luxury camping or “glamping” to upscale educational tours and even volunteering vacations, Boomers are being catered to.

As more of the age group is working longer many of the extended cruises of the past have been replaced with shorter 10 day or less excursions.

Companies like Abercrombie & Kent, Road Scholar and Crystal Cruises are in the vanguard of successful marketing to Boomer desires.
